It is clear that the Hand of God guided him from childhood to this point in time. His God-given vision of “A Church Moving to Greater Heights” has spilled over into the district and the surrounding community. Dr. Cavitt cares for his flock like a shepherd, often looking past other’s faults and seeing their needs. Under his prayerful leadership lives are changing, healings are witnessed, and members are free to operate in their spiritual gifts. He has implemented the Tribe Ministry, we now have a website (www.stelmombc.org), the church property has expanded tremendously, the church had a billboard for a year in Lawton, several repairs have been done to the current sanctuary, fellowship hall, and the pastor’s office.

Dr. Cavitt has a unique gift and an unusual love for the people. He is Benevolent. He will take time to counsel an individual at a moment’s notice. This mighty man of God has helped St. Elmo become a Lighthouse amid the Lawton Community. He is the Former Moderator of the New Hope District for 8 years. Dr. Cavitt’s concern for lost and hurt souls continues to be an example for the members of St. Elmo and that the greatest achievement we can obtain is unconditional love.
