“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”
Proverbs 29:18“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:”
Acts 2:17
I am filled with joy and excitement about what God is doing with the St. Elmo Baptist Church ministry. I was sent by the Lord to pastor St. Elmo with Belinda to meet the spiritual needs of the lost and hurting souls within the church and surrounding community. The vision God has given me is clear, with a strategic mission. Every pastor must have a vision from God to lead and guide the people of God. It is incumbent upon the members of St. Elmo to assist and support the ministry, strategy, and vision that God has given the pastor.
God has given me a three-fold vision. In this vision, God takes the church (1) spiritually, (2) mentally, and (3) physically to greater heights in Christ Jesus. Heights that the church has yet to see and experience. St. Elmo shall stand as a Lighthouse in the midst of the community so all can see and glorify God. The vision that God has given me is not one of contentment, but one of cooperation, commitment, communication, and dedication.
Furthermore, the vision requires that we as a church must fast and pray, to include studying and meditating day and night in His word. It is not a vision without trials, rough places, crooked places, valleys, and mountains to climb and pits along the way. After all, there was a “Good Friday” before there was an early Sunday Morning. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you I saw love, joy, peace, happiness, dancing, singing, praising, healing, and restoration. Most of all I saw victory–a war that was led, fought, and won by Jesus Christ.
God’s divine Will takes precedent over all our personal goals and ambitions. We are totally dependent on God to work through us to fulfill His purpose and bring Glory and Honor to His Name through the St. Elmo Baptist Church members. I am determined to allow the Holy Ghost the right to rule and govern our ministry. St. Elmo shall forever be a Spirit-led ministry that will impact the lives of every person that enters our worship services. The anointing Power of the Holy Ghost will make the difference in this ministry and He will bring forth the fruit of our labors to the Glory of God. Therefore, I ask God to give me the wisdom to carry out His vision, for who is able to judge this thy so great a people.
